Now that is out the way… We are super happy with the outcome and while there is still a long way to go with Project Lunar, and more exciting features we wish to implement, we are glad we can finally share our work to the public. Please set your expectations accordingly. Project 1.0.0 should be considered a Public BETA. Expect a bug or two to crop up with the public release. With 1 ½ months spent debugging, testing and 100+ people testing this release with 1000s of installs and uninstalls with no major fires we have covered a lot of ground… But, we are not able to cover every single permutation and possible installation scenario. (…as long as it is used in the way that is expected!) With all of the hours of development and testing, does this mean 1.0.0 is bug free? Of course not! Is it safe? Absolutely. We know many of you would have wanted this release sooner but we wanted to ensure the first release was ready, and we could provide a safe and more-stable solution from the onset. In our 9/10 review, IGN said: "The SEGA Genesis Mini isn't perfect, but it's as close to perfect as any retro all-in-one mini console has come so far.It’s been over 3 months of LONG days and nights but Project Lunar 1.0.0 is now officially live and available for all! The original SEGA Mega Drive Mini was launched in 2019 with 42 games amid a craze of retro consoles being released, such as "Classic" editions of Nintendo's NES and the original PlayStation.
Sadly, the new version will be a more limited run, and the only way to secure a North American version will be to import from Amazon Japan. The mini console was first announced for Japan as the Mega Drive Mini 2 before SEGA confirmed a Genesis Mini 2 North American edition in July. New ports of Fantasy Zone, Space Harrier, Space Harrier 2, Spatter, Super Locomotive, and the custom "demake" VS Puyo Puyo Sun are also included as bonuses. The console, which will be available from October 27 for $106.65, includes a handful of oddities amongst its game library such as never before released games Devi & Pii and Star Mobile.
